Known Flash Configs & Soldering "Check"

If you press F2 in J-Runner (with your J-R Programmer or NAND-X connected to the board and computer), you will get the Flash Config and CB version from the board - I find that this is a very simple way to check that your soldering is good before attempting to read the full NAND.

The output for the above will look something like this (assuming your soldering is good):

Version: 01
Flash Config: 0x01198010
CB Version: 5774
Falcon/Opus

Here is the list of known Flash Configs:
  • Xenon/Zephyr/Falcon/Opus = 0x01198010
  • Jasper 16MB (Small Block Controller) = 0x01198010
  • Jasper 16MB (Big Block Controller) = 0x00023010
  • Jasper 256MB = 0x008A3020
  • Jasper 512MB = 0x00AA3020
  • Trinity = 0x00023010
  • Corona 16MB = 0x00043000

If you get anything other than the above Flash Configs for your board type (0x00, 0x03 or 0xFF for example), check your soldering.

If you are certain that your soldering is good (and don't assume it is until it has had a second look) and you are getting Flash Config 0x00, read this (thanks to Martin C from the Team Xecuter forum).
